Just last night, after I posted my week 5 update on my dropshipping journey, I was actually wondering if these posts actually adds value to my site, because as you know, my website is about WordPress but some of the contents, especially my ongoing journey is actually not that related to it, aside from what I am using for my online shop is Woocommerce and uses the Alidropship which is a WordPress plugin, the contents of the journey in general is a bit off. There are also other contents that are off like some of my product reviews but these are justifiable because majority of the products that I am reviewing are WordPress plugins or some products that that are still somewhat related since it’s more on software applications that can help people with marketing or improving their websites, but my dropshipping journey? I really don’t think so, and because of this, I just decided right now that I am going to stop posting updates about this journey, but don’t worry, I will still be doing it, I will just not post updates about it and what I will do is to start with a new journey that will somehow be related to my site as a whole.
What to do now?
So what’s going to be my new journey? Well it’s actually one of my “long overdue projects” because I have been thinking of pursuing it a long time ago but I just can’t find time to start it before. I have always been dreaming of building my own WordPress plugins, plugins that I can call my own and share to others but the problem is I really don’t have the technical knowledge to do it, though I have some coding experience, the language is actually different from the one used in developing WordPress plugins, and I really haven’t gone that far to try to learn and understand the language, but not now because I already have the reason to pursue this lifelong ambition, and actually, this is going to be my new journey – creating my own WordPress plugins, and I am going to start from scratch
All about plugins
Building WordPress plugins requires some technical skills, especially in coding using PHP scripts which I really have little knowledge up to this day, even though I can actually edit a few lines in a plugins and improve it like what I did to the review wizard pro, creating a plugin from scratch is a different story, but I will do my best to research the internet on how to create one.
Just today, I have already done some light research on how to start developing wordpress plugins and I was able to find some nice resources which could help me with my journey. I am also planning to enroll in a WordPress plugin development class and have actually found a few in Udemy but I am still deciding which one to enroll to, anyway, if you have any other suggestions just let me know and I might check it out as well.
Anyway, I guess that’s all for now and I will be updating this journey once a week just like my previous journey, but if there is something interesting that I need to share like if I have already developed my plugin, I will be posting it immediately so stay tuned.
What about your dropshipping website? Would you like to sell it
not really trying to sell it. I’m still doing dropshipping, i’m just not posting updates on my blog 🙂
It was an intersting journey, I read it with the pleasure. Thanks. So how it goes now? Is it become profitable.
Hi Anatoliy
It’s still up and getting some sales from time to time though I haven’t really done much on it as I started to focus on growing this blog
Anyway, thanks for the story. I will defenatly try dropshipping as well.
