Today, I’m going to review about MyMailit, a cloud-based email marketing tool developed by Brett Rutecky. I was able to get early access to this software because I was one of the product’s beta testers, and today, I would like to show you in details what this software can really do.
This is actually an improved version of the WordPress plugin Mailit, but the difference is this is not a WordPress plugin but a standalone cloud-based software, and if you liked the Mailit Plugin, I bet you’ll going to like this even more.
What is MyMailit
So what really is this software and what is so intriguing about it? MyMailit is actually an email marketing tool, it is a cloud-based autoresponder like Aweber, GetResponse, or Mail Chimp, and just like these more popular autoresponders, This also lets you build your list, as well as send emails in bulk to your list but at a fraction of the price.
Another thing is this is somewhat an upgraded version of the Mailit Plugin, but unlike its predecessor, this tool allows you now to create an automated email sequence to your list, as well as send emails on the background, which is a very cool feature especially if you’re into the list building, as you’ll be able to schedule your mails and set your email sending task on autopilot, thus making the process a lot easier than doing it manually.
Inside the Software
Main Dashboard
After you’ve created your account, you will be directed to the main dashboard which you can see below
If you have used the Mailit Plugin before, you might notice some similarities with this stand alone version but this is actually more powerful tool compared to the previous because of its scheduling feature and optin form templates.
Email Setup
The first thing you would want to do after logging in is to setup your autoresponder, which you can do by clicking the “Settings” button found at the upper right side of the dashboard.
Once on the Settings page, you need to fill out the required fields. There is a nice video tutorial at the right side which will guide you along the way.
Moreover, you can also click the “SMTP Tutorial” button below the video tutorial which will bring you to a page where you will find several tutorials on how to setup the software using several mail service providers
Once you have setup MyMailit with your preferred settings, you can try to send a test email and if it’s a success, it means you’re good to go.
Sequences
One of the features that is lacking the Mailit Plugin is the email sequencing, which is actually addressed in this version of the software and is actually very nice because you will be able to setup follow-up emails to your list automatically, which makes it some sort of a “set and forget” system.
So if you are subscribed to my newsletter, chances are you might have received emails from me which is sent automatically using this feature
Form Builder
Another cool thing about this product is its integrated form builder as it comes with several professional looking optin form templates, and all of this comes free when you get this software.
Below you’ll see a portion of the available templates as there’s actually a lot more.
Tutorials
I can actually go on and on with this walkthrough but I realized I don’t have to because you are provided with tutorials which will show you how to setup everything from start to finish.
Just click the “Tutorial” button and you will be brought to the Tutorials page
And I guess that’s it for the walkthrough. I just recommend that you follow everything on the tutorial so you won’t be lost in the process.
What I Like About MyMailit
Below you’ll see the things that I really liked about this product.
Self- Hosted / Cloud-based
This software is cloud-based so you don’t need additional server to host this tool. You still do need to have a valid email account though (SMTP details), and all you have to do is to integrate your SMTP details and you’re good to go
Create Email Sequence / Email Scheduling
The nice thing about MyMailit is you can now create email sequences as well as scheduling when to send your emails, so sending emails can really be fully automated with this tool.
Unlimited Subscribers
Another nice thing about this software is it allows you to build unlimited number of email address on your account.
Unlike some of the more popular autoresponder services like Aweber and Get Response where the subscription cost depends on the number of subscribers that you have, with MyMailit, you can have unlimited number of subscribers at no additional cost
Form Builder with Assorted Templates
MyMailit also comes with a built-in drag and drop form builder so you can build optin forms to your liking. Aside from that, the form builder also comes with several professional-looking templates that you can use and customize, thus making your life a lot easier especially if designing an optin form is a challenging task to you
Below you can see some of the premade templates included in this software
Integration with JVZoo and Affiliate Trax
This is another cool feature of this software because it integrates smoothly with JVZoo and Affiliate Trax. This is a very helpful feature especially if you sell or promote products thru JVZoo because what it means is you will be able to capture the buyer’s emails whenever they buy something in JVZoo thru your product / affiliate link
One-Time Fee
Unlike some of the more popular autoresponder services like Aweber and GetResponse which you need to subscribe on a monthly basis, MyMailit is actually a one-time payment product which really makes it appealing especially if you don’t like recurring fees like me
What I Don’t Like / Wishlist / Improvements
What you see below are not really something I don’t like about the product but is actually more of a “Wishlist” that I would like to see in the future to somehow make MyMailit a little bit more badass.
Lacks Country Segmentation
The account that I have only captures names and emails but not the country (IP address) where the lead signed up. It will actually be a nice thing if MyMailit can do country segmentation so you will be able to do country-filtered promotions but at the moment, this tool cannot do that.
Integration with Facebook Lead Ads
This would actually be a nice feature especially if you use Facebook Leads Ads in your marketing campaign. If MyMailit can only be integrated with Facebook Lead Ads, the leads captured thru Lead Ads can be transferred to your MyMailit list automatically. At the moment, this is not possible thru MyMailit and I really wish this can be added in the future.
At the moment, I believe you can still do this but with the help of third party apps
Email Filter Expressions
What I mean about this is if you have several lists for example, and if a subscriber in one of your lists took an action (like purchasing a product that you promote), you can then set an expression filter wherein this action can be tracked and the action taker’s email address will be automatically transferred to another list (your Buyer’s List for example)
At the moment this is not possible but hopefully this feature can be added in the future updates of the product
Standalone Optin Form URL
The cool thing about the optin form builder is you can embed the optin form in any websites you have and that is actually nice, but the issue I have regarding this feature is it does not have a standalone URL that you can use if you just want it as it is and not embed in your website.
Well, it actually has a standalone URL but if you load it in a browser, you will notice that the form is positioned at the top left side of the screen and not at the center, which makes it not that professionally looking, so I really just wish that this can be addressed in the future updates of this tool.
Currently, if I want a standalone optin form page, I use the software Profit Canvas to build it. Profit Canvas is actually a nice tool, but still, it would be much nicer if this can be achieved inside of MyMailit too.
Optin Forms not Mobile Responsive
Another thing that I noticed about the optin forms built using the form builder is its not mobile responsive, so you might have issues if your potential leads are using mobile devices. The only good thing about it though is you can integrate your optin form code to third party apps that have mobile responsive templates.
Pricing
MyMailit is now priced for a one-time fee of $97. This is actually still very affordable especially if you factor in the features and what it can do; and if you compare it to other autoresponder services which you need to pay monthly subscription fee, getting this is really a no brainer.
Just see below how its price compares to some of the existing autoresponder services available in the market today
So just imagine in case you have 3,000 subscribers on your list, and how much money you’ll be able save if you switch to this one 🙂
Wrapping Up
And that wraps up my review. MyMailit is really a very useful tool that you can use on your email marketing campaigns, and I highly recommend this product especially to people who are looking for an alternative autoresponder service that gives you almost the same features but at a more reasonable price.
I personally use it by the way, and replaced what I am using before which is just its predecessor anyway (the Mailit Plugin), and I can really attest that this product does what it intends to do and that is to capture leads, send / schedule emails, create email sequences, and build your list in a cost effective way.
So what are you waiting for? if you think you’re ready to take MyMailit for a ride, just click the button below and see you on the other side.
Hello
thank you for the review.
Is My mail it form builder mobile responsive?
Are the emails you send with my mail it always sent to the main box and not to spam?
kind regards
Hi Sofia,
the form builder is not mobile responsive. it is actually one of the cons I listed on my review but you can integrate a 3rd party form builder to get away with it.
So far, the emails I send goes to the main box (based on my tests and actual sends) and I get around 20%-30% open rate with it
