In this tutorial, I will teach you how to make your website search result in google look more appealing and authoritative.
This happens when someone tries to search your website name in google (in my case it’s wpislife) and instead of just seeing a normal search result, you will see a result with your website occupying the top results (sometimes the first 3, sometimes 4, or even more) in a neat looking way.
If you can’t visualize what I mean, I’ll show you some examples with a neat looking search result below
Here is the search result when I try to search for Facebook
Now here is the search result when I search “Twitter” in Google
And for Google, below is the search result
Now you see what I mean? Notice that the result is not shown in an ordinary way and they somehow own the first few ranks of the Google search results.
The thing is, the examples I’ve shown above are all high authority websites and it’s kind of normal for high authority websites to have a search result like that
But what if your website is not yet authoritative? How can you get a search result like that? Well, there is actually a way and that’s what I’m going to show you in this tutorial.
The Script
To get a search result such as this is actually really easy, and your site doesn’t need to be a high authority site.
To achieve what we want for our search result in google, we will actually be using what is called the Google Rich Text Schema. If you want to read more about it, just go to this link and browse thru all the articles.
In order for your search results to appear just like the examples above, all you have to do is place the script that you will see below inside the header of your website code (between the <head> and </head>)
Just replace the #### with your details and you’re good to go
In my case, below is the code that I inserted on my website’s HTML code
Just replace my website details with your actual website details then place it on your website.
Placing the Script
If you’re using Genesis theme, you can do this easily by going to Genesis > Theme Settings and just paste the code to the header script box.
In case you’re not using a Genesis theme, you can still do this manually by looking for the php file where you will find the header code. Normally, it’s found on the index.php file in WordPress, so just go there and place the script before the </head>
The Wait
Now, you’re actually done with the process and all you need to do now is wait for a while. It’s just a matter of time now for Google to realize that code. Just be patient on this one because it could take a while before you see the result
The Result
In my case, I installed this script on WPisLife last September 26, 2019 and on November 19, 2017, I finally saw the search result for my blog whenever I search Google for the term “wpislife”
It really took a while before I saw the result, and to tell you the truth, I thought it won’t work but it actually did!
So based from my actual experience, it might take about 1-2 months to get the result when you used the method I shown here.
And that’s it! If you want to get a search result like the one I shown above, just follow the simple steps in this tutorial. It just could take a while though but once you see the result, you’ll realize that it’s still worth the wait
Have you already done this before? Did you get the same result like mine? Share your experience in the comments section below
is this legit?
Yup. It’s just that sometimes, it reverts back to normal search result but will return to the pimped out version (search result with sitelinks) after a few days
