If you have tried doing a dropshipping business before and you get your products from Aliexpress, I bet you know the experience of going through the process of meticulously browsing and selecting of products, checking if the product has an epacket option for shipping, downloading of product images which you have to eventually upload to your store, applying prices for each items, so on and so forth. I used to suffer from these hardships when I first started my dropshipping business before, and these actually gets worse especially if the products have multiple variants wherein you have to get all the details and images from each variants one by one and input it to your store, and being a person who hates doing mundane things repetitively, I was only able to put around 20 products on my store as I just couldn’t stand doing these things again and again. This is actually one of the reasons why I stopped doing dropshipping for the meantime, however this year, when I got the Alidropship plugin, I believe things will going to get better this time, that’s why I even created My Dropshipping Journey which you can follow if you want.
So What really is the Alidropship Plugin? The Alidropship plugin is a premium WordPress plugin that can do the things that I really hate with dropshipping like getting product details from Aliexpress, downloading images and importing to my store, checking the shipping options if it has epacket, etc., and this plugin can do these things automatically, with just a push of a button (I will explain this further later on). Actually, I have already heard of this plugin last year and the features are actually quite impressive, however I was using the Shopify platform back then so I just ignored this plugin at that time. But this time will be different since I will be using woocommerce, and the idea of getting the plugin crossed my mind again because I don’t want to experience the sufferings I encountered when I built my first store, so after a few thinking and convincing, I decided to purchase this plugin.
Downloading the Plugin
After completing your purchase, you will be redirected to the download page where you can get your plugin. You will also receive an email with the download links and your license key. There are actually two versions of the plugin – first is the standalone version and the other is the woocommerce integration. I installed the woocommerce integration because I will be using themes and some plugins that are built for woocommerce, and since I have no idea if I can use these with the stand alone version, I decided to download and install the woocommerce version. Also, you need to take note that the Alidropship plugin is encrypted and the download files has two versions of encryption – one is encrypted using Zend Loader and the other is Ion Cube encrypted, so make sure that your server is compatible with any of the two and just download the plugin that is compatible with your host.
Inside Look
After installing the plugin on your store, it will ask you to enter your license key to activate your plugin. It will just take a second or two to do this, and once your plugin is activated, you will notice the sole dashboard of the plugin.
The interface is pretty much simple and easy to understand, so there is not much to explain. Let’s now take a look at the plugin’s main features
Feature 1: Price Setup
This is a nice feature of the plugin because you get to universally setup your product pricing using simple math expressions, wherein the resulting prices is dependent on the actual cost of the product in Aliexpress. In addition to this, the plugin has a neat feature of monitoring the product’s price in Aliexpress, so whenever there’s a change in the product price, the prices in your store automatically gets updates so you don’t have to do this manually..nice right?? And another thing, you can actually update or change your pricing structure anytime you want and the changes will be applied to all your products, so in case you found a mistake on your pricing structure and decide to correct it after you have imported all your products, you can do this easily by just changing your pricing expressions and the corrected expressions will be applied to all your product prices in your store. You can see below how I set up my pricing structure
Feature 2: Product Import
This feature is the main reason why I bought this plugin as this will really save me a lot of time in adding products to my store. This feature allows you to get all the product details in Aliexpress such as the images, descriptions, prices, variations then imports it to your site without you even lifting a finger. There are actually two ways for Alidropship to import your product – first is within your plugin dashboard itself and this is for mass importing as all you need to do is enter a keyword, select ratings and number of orders and the plugin will import all the products in Aliexpress that matches your criteria. The advantage of this option is that you can fill your store with products at a much less time, however, the disadvantage is that you will not be able to filter the products properly and that you might be getting duplicate products from different stores especially if the same products from different stores both passes the standards you set.
The second way, although a bit manual is the one that I actually recommend. This is thru the Alidropship Chrome extension, and in order for you to use this, you have to install the extension to your Chrome browser. This is more of a “manual” import because you need to go directly to Aliexpress and select for individual products, though the nice thing about this is you can filter the products properly, especially since it will also tell you what products have an epacket shipping. The advantage of this method is you will be able to filter out the products properly as well as avoiding importing duplicate products, and you can select the products with epacket shipping, but the disadvantage of this method is it will take more time for you to add products to your store since you have to import each products one by one.
As a demonstration, I tried to search for a Harry Potter necklace in Aliexpress and you can see below the result of my query. Notice the products with epacket option are highlighted with a neon green border
When you click on any of the product, you will be sent to the normal product page, but you can see at the top that there is a button to import the product data to your store. Just click that button and all the product details will be imported to your store including the product images, variants (if any), product description, and prices (which is converted based on your pricing structure). Just make sure that you are logged in to your woocommerce store or else this won’t work
Those are the main features of the Alidropship Woocommerce Integration. The standalone plugin is actually packed with more features like Abandoned Cart emails, and Capturing buyer’s emails but I really can’t talk about those because my information is limited since I’m not using the standalone version. Also, just sharing my sentiments, because there is actually one feature of the standalone plugin that I really wish the woocommerce integration should also have, and that is the ability to add cents value to the prices, like for example, if the price of the aliexpress product is $5.67 and in your pricing expression, the price will be tripled so the price becomes $17.01 on your store, with the standalone plugin, you can set the cents value, so if you set it at $0.97, your final product price will become $17.97. I already talked to their support about this but they said the woocommerce integration has no feature like that in the time being, I just really hope that they will be able to address that in the future updates but despite that, I still believe that this plugin is still a great tool and would dramatically lessen the time you spend on adding products to your store and increase your productivity on other things.
(UPDATE 22/09/2017: The cents value has already been added to the latest version of woocommerce integration!)
The Alidropship plugin is currently priced at $89 but the vendors give some nice discounts. I got mine with a 35% off by using the code XMAS35. I just don’t know if this code will still be working in the near future because I believe it’s just one of their promos during the holiday season.
To sum it all up, The Alidropship plugin is a great investment if you are into dropshipping business because it would significantly decrease the time you spend on adding products to your store so you can use it on more productive tasks. The interface is also very intuitive and easy to use and even though the Alidropship Chrome extension is a bit of a manual process, it is still much better compared to adding products without it, and as a matter of fact, I have been using it for only about 7 days now and I have already imported more than 200 products in my store, working for only around 2 hours per day. Just imagine 200 products, and most of them have product variations too!
Just keep in mind that even though you have imported your products, you still have to edit the product titles to make it unique and more readable, because you know, some of the product titles from Aliexpress are really weird. Also, make sure that you double check the product images because some of it have watermarks from the Aliexpress store where it was grabbed. You will need to edit those to make your site more professional looking and at the same time, you don’t want to promote other stores where your customers can buy items at a much cheaper price. These are the tasks that you have to do manually because the plugin can really do nothing about it.

depends on you actually. shopify is much easier to use but the cost is a bit steep, and most of the useful apps are not free either so the costs pile up

This is my first week using the plug-in and I was wondering if there is a way to update the product and not change my prices. I would prefer my prices to remain as it unless I change them manual? Its there a setting I need to enable?
Additionally, is the plugin compatible with any WP theme or just Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Michelangelo? I’m currently using Da Vinci and really would like change it since again according to Alidropship the layout cannot be changed.

Are you using the stand alone plugin or the woocommerce integration? If you’re using the woocommerce integration, you can update the product without affecting the prices.
I really don’t know if the plugin is compatible with any wp theme but in my case, I am using the jessica theme by studiopress for my store and the alidropship woocommerce integration works like a charm

I can’t speak for the stand alone plugin because I have not used it. though I believe they are both good. The only advantage of the woocommerce plugin is that you are not limited to the themes provided by the stand alone version.
Anyway, once you have purchased, you will be given download links for both version. you can test both to see for yourself so you’ll have an idea which one will suit you best

I am using Digitalworld woocomerce theme and i purchaed alidropship woo plugin. But when import products in bulk it takes too much time. for 20 products they take 30-40 min which is too much.
Is it normal or not?

I can’t really tell you about the bulk import as I have not used it. What I did before was to use the manual importing using the chrome extension. I did it this way because you will be able to eliminate the duplicate products properly and you can also choose from these products which one you like the best (e.g. cheapest or with most orders and reviews)

when I used shopify before, I only used the shopify payments and the paypal express checkout for the payment gateways. You can try the paypal express checkout as i believe it’s easier to apply there

the SSL does not come with the plugin as they are not really related. Though alidropship provides a hosting service which comes with a free SSL
Regarding the payment gateway, I used the woocommerce extension and setting it up is easy since I only use paypal for my gateway

Regarding product search, you can find all products in aliexpress. if you want specific products, you just need to use chrome browser and install the alidropship chrome extension to browse in aliexpress in order to import the products you want

hey Tonnie, alidropship plugin is a single use license and cannot be used in multiple sites, though I believe its transferable to another site but you have to uninstall it first from your previous store. If you need additional license, you have to buy it separately.

Since you said you’re a complete newbie, I would suggest you go do more research first and see if its really the one you really fit to your needs and not just because its affordable. I was having some issues which I corrected and were just one of those miscommunication things that can happen. I feel so much better about doing this after reading your article today.
The only real issue I found hard was the time difference between me and support and waiting for a reply. Once everything was working it was fun and easy to set up.
