CON: | Limited templates and functionality for the front-end product |
I purchased this product more than a year ago when it was just first launched, because at that time, I was looking for a WordPress plugin that could create optin forms for my sites, but for some reasons, I was not able to use it immediately after my purchase and I just let it collect dust on my downloads folder. It was actually only a few month ago when I really started using it, and surprisingly, to tell you the truth, I am really impressed with what this plugin can do.
So what really is WP Optin Boxes? As what the name implies, it is a WordPress plugin that will let you create professional and mobile responsive “boxes”, which is just the term for the optin form since the plugin can create different types of optins and non-optin forms such as in-content optin forms, pop up optins, 2-step optins, and call to actions (which is actually not an optin), for your website so that you can collect email addresses from your visitors when they sign up to your newsletters, or if you are into email marketing and you want to collect leads by giving something to your readers (a free ebook for example) in exchange for their emails, then, this plugin can help you do that. I have tried several optin form plugins before, both free and paid but these plugins that I have tried just lacks the flexibility to create the ideal optin form that I want to see on my website, unlike when I used WP Optin Boxes, as it was very flexible and just lets me do whatever I want to my optin form easily. To summarise my experience in using this plugin, I made a list of the things that I really liked about this plugin, and you can read it below.
Mobile Responsive
What you really don’t want to see when you view your website on a mobile device is your optin form where a significant portion of it extends outside the viewing screen of your mobile phone. It just makes your site look unprofessional and ugly, and the only way to do that is to make your optin form responsive, and as what I have told before, this plugin creates mobile responsive optin forms that you can put on your website, whether you place it as in-content, as pop up, or as a side bar widget, you are sure that your optin form will respond properly whether you view it on a desktop or on a mobile device.
Ease of Use
Once you have installed the plugin, there are only 5 easy steps you need to create your first form and that is first, to create a “box” (which will be your optin form), second is to select what “box” you want (either email optin forms, 2-step optin, call to action), third is to select a template, and by the way, WP Optin Boxes has several templates to choose from and very much highly customizable, fourth is to customize the template which is very much easy to learn and very intuitive, then the last step is to decide on which pages, or posts you want your optin form to appear, and that’s it.
Highly Customizable
WP Optin Boxes comes with several templates that you can choose from, and these templates are highly customizable as you can change the fonts, the background colors, the font sizes, the images, the buttons, and everything! As a matter of fact, it also has a feature to let you modify the css style of your form, though this is more for advance users
Integration with Autoresponders
If you have accounts with Aweber, GetResponse, Mail Chimp, or other popular autoresponder services, you can easily integrate it with WP Optin Boxes as those services are supported by the plugin, but what I really liked the most in this plugin is its HTML support, which means that even if your autoresponder is not in the list of the most popular ones like the mailit plugin which I currently use, you can still get it to work with WP Optin Boxes, as long as your autoresponder can generate the HTML signup form code, and that’s all you need and WP Optin boxes will just parse the needed details so that when someone signs up on the optin, it gets transferred instantly to your autoresponder mailing list! Nice right?
Tracking System
WP Optin Boxes comes with its own tracking system and it provides data such as the number of visitors who went to your page with optin boxes, people who saw your optin boxes, and people who signed up, and with this data, you have an idea if your optin form is actually doing its job, and with this information, you can tweak your forms to improve conversions
The Price is Right
Most optin services are currently priced on a monthly basis. Just look at Lead Pages for example, and and when you look at the price plans, is really not that affordable especially for a small time blogger like me, so I have to resort to other ways that provide the same kind of service at a much lower price and here is where WP Optin Boxes comes into play. With a price of less than $20 with unlimited installation, its guaranteed that you’ll get the bang for your buck. Also, as what I have told you before, I bought this plugin over a year ago, and WordPress has already released updates multiple times and even with the latest WordPress version, this plugin is still working with no problems at all, and as a matter of fact, I use this plugin on this blog for the pop up optins and on my sidebar optins as well.
Overall, I believe WP Optin Boxes will be useful to anyone with a wordpress website, especially those who are into email marketing as this plugin can help them capture subscribers by creating professional looking optin forms that are mobile responsive, at a fraction of the price of other optin services that you can find on the web, and with ease.
I guess that wraps up my review, and in case you are looking for a feature that I don’t like in this plugin, I actually have to find it out myself either and so far, I still found none and as a matter of fact, I would give my thumbs up on this product as I highly recommend this plugin and If you want to try it out, you can click the button below to purchase and see for yourself. Anyway, the vendors provide a 30-day money-back guarantee so in case it didn’t meet your standards, you can just ask for a refund with no questions asked.
