Nothing significant happened this week for my store aside from the fact that it went down for about an hour yesterday because I tried to update my Alidropship plugin. However, the problem was the Ioncube loader of my server was outdated and it cannot process the updated version of the plugin which caused a fatal error and made my online shop inaccessible. The good thing was that I am subscribed with VaultPress, which was really a life saver for me because I was able to restore my site using the latest backup file from its server and all I can do is praise this service and promote it to everybody else. If you don’t know, VaultPress backups your website every day and in case something bad happens to your website, you can easily restore it using the backup files it stores in its server, also, the price for the personal plan is very cheap at $3.5 per website, so if you still don’t have it, I highly recommend you subscribe now because you’ll never know what will going happen to your websites if you don’t have a backup for it.
Anyway, back to my dropshipping journey, I actually stopped my promotions 3 days after it started because it was still not getting enough sales. For my promotion, I only acquired two sales which amounted to $23.96, however, my advertising cost is already at $195.51 so I have no choice but to shut it down due to the fact that I am already losing significant amount of money, and besides, I think it was also a blessing in disguise that I shut down my promotion because of what happened yesterday when my site went down, just imagine how much money I would lose if I continued with my promotion then my site went down, so I guess what happened this week is still a good thing. Also yesterday, I already researched a new product on the same niche and actually created some ads for it. My promotion is scheduled to run on the 26th of February. This time, I will be running one Page Post Engagement (PPE) and one Website Conversion ads (WC). The PPE will target the custom audience I created using the Page Engagement and combined it with the Look-a-like audience of that Page Engagement audience. For the WC, I will target the audience I created with View Content, or the people that actually went to my website to view the product, combined with the look-a-like audience I generated from this custom audience.
Here is the breakdown of my promotion for the week:
- Total Adspend (Feb 20 – 26): $195.51
- Number of products sold: 2
- Gross sales: $23.96
- Product cost: $7.98
- Net sales: $15.98
- Profit/Loss: -$179.53
The results for the past two weeks are a bit disheartening but I still don’t lose hope on this niche. What I will do is continue for maybe two more weeks but if the results will not improve, then I guess it’s time to move on to another niche.
