I was not able to post updates these past weeks about my WordPress plugin development journey because I really have no idea what to write, and no new plugin idea that came to my mind that I want to create, and in addition to this, I became a bit busy doing some side projects and case studies, which might last for a few more weeks or months depending on the results, so my journey will definitely be affected. I am actually wishing right now that I can split myself into many me so I have enough of me to do whatever I want to do; but since I am only one, I have no choice but to split my very precious time into these separate projects including my journey. Anyway, regarding the journey, I will still be continuing the updates for this but the only change is that I will be doing it once a month starting now, and what I will do for each updates is to provide a weekly break down of my progress so you will still have an idea of what’s happening on a weekly basis but compressed into one update.
Anyway, back to my journey, what I am planning to do now is to enroll on an online course about plugin development, because even though I can already create a plugin by modifying existing wordpress plugins, I still need the training for me to acquire the basic knowledge that will help me create a wordpress plugin from scratch, as well as for me to know the best practices in this kind of endeavor.
What I’m looking for in an online tutorial is the one that is easy for beginners, and the one that would be able to teach me the step by step process in creating my own wordpress plugin. I have already found several classes in Udemy that caught my attention a few weeks ago but until now but I am still a bit undecided which class to take, though I am already inclined into taking one of these paid online tutorials. If you would like to help me decide, below are the following WordPress plugin development courses that got my interest:

The Verdict
I am actually already inclined to choose option 1 because it has a “best-selling” tag which I believe is a sign that it is a good course and it is also the most updated WordPress Plugin Development course among the three (last updated 01/2016), and aside from that, it has the most number of enrolled students, as well as this course also got the highest rating among the three options, moreover, it also has the most number of reviews, and most of these reviews rated the training high, so I believe the rating is genuine and would be difficult to manipulate in case someone tries to do some rating manipulations. Option 1 actually has the best metrics among the three courses, but I don’t know why I am still hesitant to enroll at the moment on this course but we’ll see later.
Anyway, I will decide in a few more days from now so if you would like to help me choose or you have other suggestions in mind, just let me know by commenting below.
