One year ago today, I started WpisLife, it didn’t start that well, and to tell you the truth, it actually started a bit slow, and is really not a smooth journey as I encountered several ups and downs along the way. A lot of things has also happened and changed from the first time I built it, though I can attest that everything that happened is really worth it.
It really amazes me how time flies and I’m really thankful and proud on what this blog has already become. At first I thought it would just be another web property of mine that I would sooner or later dump but I actually didn’t! Instead, I got really motivated by this blog and somehow it convinced me to invest a considerable amount of time, money, and effort to make it as what it is today.
Mind you, this blog still has a very long way to go to make it as one of the authoritative blog in my niche, but only time can really tell whether I will be able to achieve that feat, and for now, I guess all I can really do is to work harder to achieve it.
Lessons Learned
Over the course of one year, WPisLife has actually taught me several lessons – lessons that can be applied not just in online marketing but in life as a whole as well. And these are the lessons that I would like to share to all of you, which hopefully will get you inspired to continue whatever venture you do in your life today.
Patience is Key
To tell you honestly, I am the type of person with very little to no patience at all, and if there is something I want, I will do whatever it takes to get whatever I want now.
But this is not the case for this blog as what I want for this blog is to become an authority in its niche, but as we all know, authority does not happen overnight and you can’t really force a new blog to become an authority unless you’re already a popular figure
And this is one of the things that this blog has taught me – to be patient and to take it one step at a time, taking even one little step as long as you are moving forward while still believing that it will become an authority in due time.
Consistency Matters
Another thing that this blog has taught me is to be consistent. Before, I have always been a person that has a habit of starting something very strong but later in time, the interests fades then just dump everything without accomplishing anything.
One of the things I realized is that consistency is actually what’s lacking on my previous failed ventures. And to tell you the truth, I am really having a hard time to be consistent even now especially when laziness and procrastination sets in, but still, I have to make sure that I will be consistent now, especially in updating my blog, and so far, I think I have been reaping the fruits of my labor!
Value First Before Money
This is actually one of the most important things that I learned from this blog – that you provide value first without even thinking of making money, but sooner or later, the next thing you know is that money will just come in.
With value, it means something that gives your audience benefits, and they’ll learn something new, or will be able to help them on what they are doing right now.
Value can actually have many forms, but in my case, these are the honest product reviews as well as several tutorials that I publish on my site.
Mind you, providing value can really take a lot of your time, effort, and even money, but in the end, it is still worth it because you know that you are able to help someone – even people you don’t even know, on something that they’re having issues at.
And that is actually the most rewarding part of having this blog
Taking Action
Well, let’s face it, in order for your dreams or goals to come into fruition, you need to actually make the first step and take action. WPisLife won’t be having its first anniversary today if I just laid on my bed a year ago, just thought about it and did nothing.
In anything that you do, you really have to take action. Nothing good will happen if you just analyze things and not doing anything. Sometimes, you have to get out of your comfort zone to get things done.
Taking action also entails risks as there is always a risk involved whenever you do something outside your comfort zone, and the thing is, there’s nothing you can really do about it.
Also, whenever you take action, there’s always 2 kinds of results, either you win or you learn a lesson, but in the end, you’ll realize that it’s all worth the shot.
Relaxing is not bad
From time to time, getting yourself away from what you are doing can really be beneficial as it will get you refreshed a bit which can make you more productive in the long run.
Make sure that you relax from time to time and spend quality time with your loved ones. Also, make sure that you do not overdo things and always allot a portion of your time that you can spend outside of your business to relax once in a while
I guess that’s all for now. 2017 has really been very good to me despite all the challenges that I’ve been, but I believe 2018 is going to have a lot better things in store for me and with that, I am claiming right now that 2018 is going to be my breakthrough year as far as WPisLife is concerned, so wish me luck!
